
Emergence
Emergence is a narrative game design project that I completed as part of my course work. It consists of a comprehensive story bible and high concept design document. Overall, it is around thirty pages of documentation, detailing game play and narrative design.

The project involved designing unique mechanics, creating and detailing a setting, writing a narrative, and detailing a handful of characters within that narrative.

Emergence is designed as an open world, narrative, survival game. It is set within a Lovecraftian themed post apocalyptic America. The game play loop revolves around going out into the world to hunt down a monster and trying to scavenge for materials in the journey in order to survive.

The game and its world continue on even amidst player death, as the player selects a randomized character to play as they continue their play through, emphasizing that the player character is not the main character of this story.
