Auto Immune

Auto Immune is a narrative design project that was completed prior to Emergence as part of my course work. This project involved designing a narrative and other gameplay design after being provided basic guidelines for the game and the setting it takes place in. This limited the narrative and artistic liberty, but in doing so emulated a more accurate production pipeline.

Auto Immune is a linear narrative game, set within a dystopian sci-fi universe. The government has a deep and hidden control over its population, abusing its power upon the people.

The game takes place within an alien space station that the player character and their partner AI have been tasked with investigating, sampling, and experimenting on. But soon they discover that this alien system is a living organism, one that is trying to fight off the player's disturbance upon its being.

The player character is a “digitized human intelligence” that has had the memories of their past life erased, they view themselves as sub human at first, but as they continue to learn about the station, they learn about themselves and remembering their lost life.
